Hey Mike!  Welcome to the board.  Really cool hobby you got...I've always loved juke boxes.  Hope you stick around and enjoy all the mopar action.  I'll keep an eye out for 70 cudas in your area.

Again, welcome.

Hello - Nope, no Mopars in my driveway today. I had a 70 Cuda just out of high school that I bought for $300! Trans was weak, front grille parts missing, etc I bought it to fix it. Well, unexpected fatherhood and life kicked in about that time and I sold it less than a year later for what I paid as I needed money. Well, that was 20 years ago and I want to revisit the muscle car scene. They have an antique-collectable car club meeeting at the neighborhood Sonic two or three times a year. A guy had a 71 Cuda there and it brought back memories of my 70 so I am looking for one.

Am not ready for a frame-off restore, and dont have the shop resources to tie up for a long term project. Am really looking for one that is complete (or mostly complete), preferably driveable, maybe needing body, engine, or trans work. Ideally, didnt want to spend over $10K or so but if someone wants to get into an antique 45 juke or a bubbler CD jukebox like in the pics, maybe we could negotiate?

Thanks for the welcome treatment, am in no hurry for this. Am online alot (another PC nut) and plan to research this to see what things I should look for or steer clear of

WOW!  You know, I never thought I'd look at a CD jukebox as vintage.  Guess I am getting old(er).  sniff.   ;D  Very nice!

No,those aren't vintage LOL. They are reproductions of the famous vintage Wurlitzer 1015 bubbler jukebox. They are just a couple of boxes I have bought with other stuff for resale only; In my collection I have:

1940 Wurlitzer 800   78RPM
1947 Wurlitzer 1015 78RPM
1948 Wurlitzer 1100  converted to 45RPM
1953 Seeburg G 45RPM
1955 Seeburg VL200 45RPM
1959 Rockola 1468 Tempo 45RPM
1947 Filben Maestro 78RPM (VERY RARE)

Waiting for restoration I have:
1941 Wurlitzer 750E 78RPM
1961 AMI Continental II 45 RPM (popularized by the movie "Ghost")
1957 AMI H model

I just sold an AMI Continental 1 that took me over a year to complete. (See below) Anyhow, getting a bit bored with the juke thing lately, might even sell some of my collection off to finance the Cuda project  :)

well, am still looking. Very few cars available to look at under $15K in my area.

In the meantime, just finished another juke - asking $3600 or will trade-up + cash for a decent 70 Cuda

All things equal i'd be expecting at least a mid to high number two vehicle. Otherwise let the negotiating begin. Be sure it's the vehicle you're looking for. Just as it's better to buy a complete car, it's also easier to start with something closer to what you have in mind than than changing body color, interior, auto to 4sp, etc. Let us know some codes if possible.

Hey Mike, sounds like it could be a decent find.  Check the vin # though, I don't think they made "Cudas" with 318's...it's probably a barracuda which I think should lower that price.

Mike,
The price doesn't sound bad at all if it's in good-to-great shape. Can you share any pictures with us?

hope to go see it this afternoon; will try and snag my digital camera before I go. I am not too crazy about the white top. Also does the classic car NADA have any weight in the mopar world? According to it, this car should go something like this:

Original MSRP:    $2,865
Low Retail           $5,475
Average Retail    $10,350
High Retail          $16,200

So unless this thing is really cherry, he may be a bit high at $15K to $16K.

Hmmm...sounds like the book is right on target, but I never hear anyone speaking of it.  Can you check out what the book says about a 71 Cuda Convertible?  I bet it doesn't say $1million!
