Engine stalls from idle and shuts off when any gear is applied

Hello guys.. after the roller coaster of the milkshake finally got the engine running good today... still need some adj to the carb.. but is good in general...

The new problem we're facing is that the engine is not able to maintain idle speed when a gear is applied on the tranny..

Any ideas??.... CARB ADJ.?... Torque converter??

    one of the errors made is not letting the carb close completely , sometimes caused by binding or adjustment screw, then the idle mixture screws & of course timing.  One of the hardest things to do is getting from idle to off idle without stumbling .

PROBLEM SOLVED.... the MP single plane intake was sucking air by the most inner carb threads, the demon carb uses the most outer holes and doesn't completely cover the most inner ones, which (I don't know why) happen to go al the way to the interior of the manifold, went to ACE hdw. and got 4 headless torque bolts,  some sealant and voila...

Carb adj... timing adj..  and took her for the first ride in (my best guess) 20+ years... happpy!!!

I know that this is an old post but here is my 2 cents. I had the same problem...finally adjusted the accelerator pump (Holley Carbs) and it works fine.
