I saw this in the auto industry newsletter Autobeat:
CHRYSLER BRINGS CALL CENTERS BACK FROM INDIA. Chrysler LLC is moving its customer-assistance call center from India to the U.S. in what it describes as a customer retention effort.
Within several months, all Chrysler customers who dial the 800-number for assistance will be routed to representatives
in Rochester Hills, Mich., or Salt Lake City, Utah. Chrysler Customer Satisfaction Director Paul Alcala, who disclosed the change in a posting on the corporate Red Letter Dodge blog, did not elaborate on the reasons for the change.
Some companies that had moved their call centers overseas to reduce labor costs are now repatriating them because of customer backlash. Readers of the Dodge blog who responded to Alcala’s posting hailed the decision for reasons ranging from better information to the preservation of American jobs.
