What is really scary is this.....if they are so hung up on just the color of a car then what happens when these retarded tree huggers turn their attention towards all our gas hungry musclecars? With the idiots having the majority in Washington right now they could pass a law within a week prohibiting the personal use of cars that are 20 years or older. Now that would be horrible.

Won't happen, because a majority of the Democratic vote is from the lower class (read:  people who can't afford a newer car).  They'd lose way too many votes over such legislation.

No, I can't believe it. Like most of the political stories running around, there is very little fact and a whole lot of hype going on here...

The real story is quite different. CARB was trying to get legislation passed that would require new cars to be made with a new type of paint that has a higher reflective index. The idea is that if the car stays cooler, less A/C will be needed and hence better fuel mileage (yeah its a stretch!). The paint has been successfully used on buildings already to reduce energy use. The reason no black cars? Its not in the legislation, its a by-product. They haven't figured out how to make this new paint in the color black.

REALITY CHECK- DuPont, the maker of the paint, has come out and said that the paint is not currently, and likely will not be soon, or EVER, available in automotive form. And the legislation is dead. Someone thought they could just copy it straight over from the building industry without doing their research.

Here's a link to more info, just in case you don't believe me...

Do any of yall watch Myth Busters? They tested the "AC makes mileage worse" idea. It did, but it only made a 20 mile difference on an entire tank of gas. I think it was 350 miles or something? I can't remember, but that's not enough to make a damn difference.

My apologies to anyone on here who is a democrat, but democrats are just plain crazy. I can't believe some of the insane ideas they come up.

How about the fact that the Northern Hemisphere's average temp actually dropped this year? So now Al Gore had to change the term "Global Warming" to "Global Climate Change". I can't believe it. Funny thing is is that everyone that believed him in the first place is like "Oh. He's right!"

If none of yall watch South Park you should. They make fun of all these idiots and its great.

The current volcano eruptions are doing more environmental harm than all the cars put together. We should save the earth from itself by banning volcanoes. The earth should know better than to have the silly things.  :nono:

If that goes well we can ban lighting strikes & wildfires next. Silly earth.......  :screwy:

I especially like last weeks episode where the economy crashed and kyle fixed it by bailing out everyone (by acruing more debt... for those of you who dont watch) And then at the end Obama gets all the credit.

Or the one where Al Gore created a fictional monster to scare all of the residents.  He called it ManBearPig "half man, half bear, half pig"

These guys are the best when it comes to ripping politicians

Exactly!

Al Gore: "See! I knew it! It's ManBearPig! I told you I was super cereal!" lol.

Last weeks was best though. I like how the government was cutting chickens heads off and letting them run around until they fell on a space and that's how they determined how to handle problems. While playing a Kazoo.

how about last weeks where Cartman played a superhero who was going to bring change and revitalize the towns economy by stopping crime.  His hero name was "The Coon"... again for those who didnt watch, Cartman was dressed like a racoon.  These guys will push all the buttons, they dont let anyone slide
