most of the questions i get it how does it run? Would anyone here buy a 500 dollar motor and not rebuild it before they installed it in a mopar? I sure wouldnt, thats insane to me.

What's really annoying is when they ask questions that are clearly stated in the listing. Been there done that!! I feel your pain. I had my Barracuda for sale a while ago and listed my rock bottom price and clearly stated I would come no lower. I still had people trying to offer me less. I just rolled my eyes at them & said I'd gladly take their money plus the difference in what they offered below my asking price!! :screwy:

Selling a car can be a pita as you get a lot of lowball offers from dealers or flippers trying to make a buck. Also a lot of trade offers even though I clearly state NO TRADES!I have also gotten phone calls from ad salesman for Auto trader and such so I don`t put my phone # in the ad and only e-mail it to them when I know they are really interested in the car.I make sure to put REASONABLE OFFERS in the ad to help keep the low ballers away. These things help but you can never keep all the morons away!

Wait till you try and sell a car on Craigslist. The Nigerian scammers come crawling out of the Jungle.  :blah: about sending it to Africa etc.
I have had plenty of those scammers on Craigslist, and I drag them thru all kinds of crap to make their life miserable :smilielol:

I did the same thing with one of them when I had a 392 hemi on Craigslist. Strung him along for 6 weeks. I still have a $3,000 check from him around here somewhere! :smilielol:

Craigslist is definitely a way to meet the Wack-A-Doodles near you.    :scared:

I went in to it thinking I would be fair and sell to the first person to respond to each ad. I now think it's better to screen the people that contact you. I could bore you with the details, but be careful out there folks.

Now, from a recent buyers perspective.

I searched craiglist for months for a car.

It amazes me how so many people post incomplete ads out there.....Post ALL the info you can about an item and then you wont get so many questions.  Some sellers dont even tell ya all the info when you followup and you find out that the car was wrecked hard after you have driven 4 hours to see it based on what the ad and seller said.

If you post an email address, be prepared to deal only through email...and dont gripe when people want to ask questions via email instead of call.  Photos and printed word serve a real purpose....dont grip about it, with email these days its a piece of cake.  Verbal stuff is hard to keep track of when you are shopping many car ads.

I looked at what had to be a hundred cars.....both in person and thru pics etc thru email...I am sure many sellers felt I was just kicking tires....but now, months later, I have my 72 Barracuda. So I looked at 100 cars and bought #100.  The first 99 people, I am sure, think I was just a tire kicker.  I dont care.......its my money.

Not EVERYONE just buys on a whim...some of us take our time to see what is out there.

If you are trying to sell something these days, realize you are currently in a buyers market....by posting on craigslist you will likely get a lot of questions (some that may seem silly to you but not so silly to the buyer, who has his reasons for asking)... you want to sell your item and you may have to go out of your way to provide info sometimes to a potential seller......you arent the ONLY person out there selling the item you are selling, so if you give them a "take it or leave it" attitude, they will likely leave it.

Low ball offers etc are all part of the game...we would all like to be able to post our for sale item one time and have "the" buyer show up the next minute and be done with it.  Buyers would ALSO like to find "the" deal and buy it asap, without spending hours looking.

Unfortunately there is a lot of people out there looking to screw others...whether  sellers or buyers....hence what you have experienced.

If you use email for ads you dont have to reply to those who you feel are asking silly question.
I dont know why anyone would insist on getting phone calls in regards to an ad placed NATIONALLY but some do.

Just my two.

I just sold my trans am on there, 2 days listed it was gone.  Sold my bike, took a few weeks, but it was an r-title, that one I got lots of stupid questions on.  Also traded my rusty ram for a much nicer durango. Now the fun one, an eagle vision, runs and drive great, but trans has to warm up before it shifts into gear, been like that for 20k... clearly stated in the ad in detail, yet people ask about it over and over... I had 50 emails on the car alone cause it was cheap.  I just got sick of it and said screw it, I'll keep it!
