A 440 4 speed w/ a Dana (3.54's). It happens when you put slicks on a 4,000 lb. car! Oh yeah, it was my old Charger, not my #matching Kuda!

Question ? I have seen in the past, the flywheel and pressure plate to become hardend from the heat. from the tint of the plates is this part of the culprit?
whith a scratch test(if you can't scratch it with a pocket knife it may be to hard for the clutch to grab).
Poor boy special repair, aneal it gently whith torch.
chryco will this work.

I always hardened the back brakes on my 3/4 Suburban when I used to tow my race car to the track. They were so hard that even when not towing, they would chatter till replaced. The heat would make them so dry that I don't think anything could have fixed them. Same type of material.

If you have a clutch out, why not replace it.

Here is some pics of the new SPEC clutch.  Also the write up on the web site for the 3+ system.  Looks like a great clutch, only problem is they sent me the 11"  :stomp:
My 130 tooth flywheel is only good for a 10-1/2 or 10.95".

You'll be sorry that you got that diaphram pressure plate. You have to pull your over-center spring off and it will feel spongy. Plus, those clutches are known for sticking to the floor while speed shifting.  Good Luck.

Those clutches are good for Chevys or for your wife's mopar, that complains about a clutch that "is too hard to push in"  Or sissyies (sp?)

Never had issues with sticking or slipping. I have ripped the centers out of the disks with Centerforce. but no issues like were mentioned. Spec makes a very nice clutch. I installed a few in the C style Corvettes with very good results. You may not need the overcenter spring removed either. My knees like Mom's type of clutch , and the ones I've installed (cars, trucks, various makes) mine never slipped. Another thought is to be careful breaking it in. Go gently and try not to slip it for the first hundred miles of local street driving.

I have had a Cforce not last a weekend , I have had the clutch pedal stay on the floor with high RPM shifts , rev limiters are a good thing , all diaphragms realease weird , they come up with light pressure & just as they clamp the pressure increases making it very difficult to engage them smoothly , I will never install one in my cars

I'm going to go ahead and get the correct SPEC clutch and try it out.  CP you can say "I told you so" if it don't work.  McLeod was going to take 2+ weeks to get one out, may take that long with this mess anyway.  I'm going to be gone after tomorrow anyway, my 10 year old finally talked me into taking her skiing this weekend.   :eek2:  So I may need some of you to come put my clutch in while I'm laying in bed with multiple broken bones.  I'm going to try not to do my Sonny Bono imitation.
