tips on extracting rear servo piston in 727

damn, I spent over an hour under the car trying to remove the rear servo piston (i'm installing TF1 kit). I did everyting as stated in Munroe's book (long thin screwdriver, removed adjusting bolt) but that f*** strut doesn't want to go out. I lost my faith and even think about leaving it as is...
are there any tips or hints that help me to do this??

Loosen the adjustment all the way,then you have to push the band anchor area away from the strut and then flip the strut out with a pic or small screw driver. If you do not shim it solid,you CANNOT do a manual 1-2 shift.

So I have to wait for my lucky day :screwy: It seems it would e harderto get it back than to extract, though.

One more thing:
the TF1 kit manual says to drill from the side the hole in the corner of the VB where a spring+ball is while the TCI manual doesn't say a word about it. What is this drilling for?

finally did it. while pushing the band bracket towards the tranny wall one has topry the strut up not to the side ;)
installing TF1 wasnt troublesome and everything wors, however the changes the TF1 made are not huge. the shift is delayed (that's good) but I still have quite long 2-3 change when accelerating modestly, however at WOT 2-3 is quick.
Anyway it was a good lesson and a good purchase.
