A LITTLE GUN HISTORY
« on: March 31, 2009 - 10:56:25 AM »
I hope this should wake up some people.

A LITTLE GUN HISTORY
In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
------------ --------- ---------

In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
------------ --------- ---------

Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.
------------ --------- ---------

China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated
------------ --------- ---------

Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
---- ------------ - ------------ -

Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
------------ --------- ---------

Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million educated people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
------------ --------- --------

Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million..
------------ --------- ---------

It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own Government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars. The first year results are now in:

List of 7 items:

Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent.

Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent.

Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!

In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns!

While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.

There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the ELDERLY. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort, and expense was expended in successfully ridding Australian society of guns. The Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it.

You won't see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information.

Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens.

Take note my fellow Americans, before it's too late!

The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson.

With guns, we are 'citizens'. Without them, we are 'subjects'.

During WWII the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED!

If you value your freedom, please spread this anti-gun control message to all of your friends.

The purpose of fighting is to win. There is no possible victory in defense.
The sword is more important than the shield, and skill is more important than either. The final weapon is the brain. All else is supplemental.

SWITZERLAND ISSUES EVERY HOUSEHOLD A GUN! SWITZERLAND 'S GOVERNMENT TRAINS EVERY ADULT THEY ISSUE A RIFLE. SWITZERLAND HAS THE LOWEST GUN RELATED CRIME RATE OF ANY CIVILIZED COUNTRY IN THE WORLD!!!
IT'S A NO BRAINER! DON'T LET OUR GOVERNMENT WASTE MILLIONS OF OUR TAX DOLLARS IN AN EFFORT TO MAKE ALL LAW ABIDING CITIZENS AN EASY TARGET..

I'm a firm believer of the 2nd Amendment!

Thanks dude! I just signed up too. I was a member before, but I didn't renew my membership.

As far as gun control, Britain is actually protesting trying to get their guns back. They (the citizens) all realize now how stupid they were to believe that gun control will make things better. Now they all want their guns back, but all the guns were destroyed, no matter how collectible or valuable.

I just bought a new 9mm, but everyone is out of bullets. It doesn't matter if you have guns if you can't get the bullets!

With the majority they have right now Congress could ram a gun control law down our throats in a matter of weeks. It will hit us like a slap in the face. Its not helping things every time some nutcase decides to shoot up a town. Damn nutjobs are ruining it for the 99.9 percent of law-abiding gun owners.  :swear:

There are so many crisis going on right now with the economy and such that I hope that new gun control laws will stay on the back burner for the time being.
Even though the Dems have a large majority, keep in mind that many are from states and districts where the population is largely pro gun.  New gun laws enacted early in the Clinton term were given a lot of the credit for the Republicans gaining a lot of seats during the '94 elections and regaining the majority.  Democrats certainly should remember that and if they have any brains will tread lightly when trying to enact new gun control laws!
Despite that I do think they will try to force some new "assault weapon" bans on us, along with bans on some large capacity magazines and BS like that.
I have wanted to own a CAR15 for many years and wish I had purchased one around a year ago before the prices started going way up.  I have an SKS and a couple M1 carbines.  I also would like to get a good home defense handgun, like a 45.  I'm unemployed right now or else I would be asking my dad, who has an FFL, to help me find a couple guns to buy!

Remember, the Second Amendment is the ONLY barrier between
your freedom and tyranny. Believe it!!

Here it is, folks, and it is bad news. The framework for
legislation is always laid, and the Democrats have the votes to
pass anything they want to impose upon us. They really do not
believe you need anything more than a brick to defend your home
and family. Look at the list and see how many you own. Remember,
it is registration, then confiscation. It has happened in the UK,
in Australia, in Europe, in China, and what they have found is
that for some reason the criminals do not turn in their weapons,
but will know that you did.

Remember, the first step in establishing a dictatorship is to
disarm the citizens.

Gun-ban list proposed. Slipping below the radar (or under the
short-term memory cap), the Democrats have already leaked a
gun-ban list, even under the Bush administration when they knew
full well it had no chance of passage (HR 1022, 110th Congress).
It serves as a framework for the new list the Brady's plan tointroduce shortly. I have an outline of the Brady's current plans
and targets of opportunity. It's horrific. They're going after the
courts, regulatory agencies, firearms dealers and statutes in an
all out effort to restrict we the people. They've made little
mention of criminals. Now more than ever, attention to the entire
Bill of Rights is critical. Gun bans will impact our freedoms
under search and seizure, due process, confiscated property,
states' rights, free speech, right to assemble and more, in
addition to the Second Amendment. The Democrats current
gun-ban-list proposal (final list will be worse):

Attorney General gets carte blanche to ban guns at will: Under the
proposal, the U.S. Attorney General can add any "semiautomatic
rifle or shotgun originally designed for military or law
enforcement use, or a firearm based on the design of such a
firearm, that is not particularly suitable for sporting purposes,
as determined by the Attorney

Note that Obama's pick for this office, Eric Holder, wrote a brief
in the Heller case supporting the position that you have no right
to have a working firearm in your own home. In making this
determination, the bill says, "there shall be a rebuttable
presumption that a firearm procured for use by the United States
military or any law enforcement agency is not particularly
suitable for sporting purposes, and a shall not be determined to
be particularly suitable for sporting purposes solely because the
firearm is suitable for use in a sporting event." In plain English
this means that ANY firearm ever obtained by federal officers or
the military is not suitable for the public.

The last part is particularly clever, stating that a firearm
doesn't have a sporting purpose just because it can be used for
sporting purpose - is that devious or what? And of course,
"sporting purpose" is a rights infringement with no constitutionalthe right to keep and bear arms to further their cause of
disarming the innocent.
