Dash frame and heater
« on: April 01, 2009 - 01:10:01 AM »
There was a discussion a while back about putting in the heater core into I think a 73 or 74 Challenger.  I'm near the point of putting the frame/pad into the car and this got me thinking.  Will the heater box go in after the dash frame is installed or does it need to be put in first?  This is an A/C box for clarification if it makes any difference.

Pete,
I asked this same question days ago and got no response.  As far as I can tell, no the heater box will not go under the dash once it is installed.  I have decided I am going to at least partially remove the dash this weekend to get the box in there.  I am putting together a '72 Challenger, by the way.  Good luck!

It should go in after the dash is in - mine came out without pulling the dash out, so I'd assume it could go in reverse - but I think you'll have an easier time if you mount the box first.

I do not do many A/C cars but to my knowledge the heater has to go in first
