    Hey guys I have a 3:23 posi in my Challenger that I recently bought. My question is I'm not certain if the previous owner put in the additive for the posi or not. I'm going to put a tube in just in case my question is will it hurt if there was some in there already and I add more? I don't think so but I'm not certain. Thanks

    I would think not, but if you were worried, you could drain it all and redo it all again yourself. That would actually put your mind at ease.  But I never heard a unit failing for putting in a little extra before

    If it's not chattering when turning, I would leave it alone.  Either it has the additive, the gear oil used has the additive or the sure grip is worn enough that it doesn't require it.

    I'd drain it and refill it. 
    I have been using GM posi fluid and additive, draining and refilling every 5 or 6 years.  Seems to work.

    I would run it as is unless it starts to chatter on corners.

    I can't belive nobody has said this yet but you won't ever find a Chrysler diff with a "posi" in it, only GM's. The correct name is Sure Grip or the common name of limited slip.

    This topic made me think about my rear end.  My cuda's rear end. 
    I put a 3rd member unit (3.91 sure-grip) in it back in 1976.  I haven't done anything to it since. 
    So I guess it might be a good idea to drain and refill it. 

    What brand and weight of gear lube should I use and how much will I need?  Do I need to add any sure-grip additives?  And how do I drain it?
