I actually had someone recognize my car as a Challenger the other day!
I was picking up a pizza and the kid at the counter says "nice car". So I say thanks, and wonder what he's going to ask next, you know, like, is it fast, or why don't you paint it orange or whatever. But instead he says
"Do you like Challenger more than the Chargers?"
Of course I say I do, he says "yeah they're a little less boxy looking, I like the profile better"
So I tell him I was surprised he didn't think it WAS a Charger, seeing as how everyone seems to. And he just gives me a surprised look and says "Really?". We talked a little more about the car before I went on my way.
It was actually kinda cool! There are at least a few people out there that know the difference!
Although I'm not sure we should be surprised when people screw it up, since I've been paying attention I've noticed that they're really aren't many E-bodies used as drivers, at least in my area. I certainly haven't seen many out on the road, only a couple locally. On the other hand, I see '60-'70's Mustangs and Camaro's all the time. Practically every day! I do know of a few A-bodies I see on the road on a fairly regular basis doing the daily grind, but not B or E bodies.
