Mine gets called Charger the most and then cuda second. When I was towing it home everyone that looked at it said "man look at that cuda". My friends either call it a Charger or they just say "you ever finish that rusted hulk yet?" :roflsmiley:

Mine gets called a Charger far more than it actually gets called a Challenger!  ::)

Occasionally I hear its a 'Cuda or a Camaro, I've heard Mustang a few times too. But "Charger" has to be by far the most popular mistake. I imagine the Camaro thing is worse for the 'Cuda guys (except maybe the '71's) on account of the grille/headlight thing...

I have had mine called a mustang one time, oh and a superbee once, but never has it been called a chevy of anykind, thank goodness, I really dont like chevys too much, the only chevy i really like is the 70 chevelle, I live right in the middle of chevy country and i have one of the only mopars around, what is weird is the chevy guys are the ones that actually know its a challenger.

i got a story similar to this ...

i took my challenger where i usto work and one day some dude in a new challenger pulled up so i said "hey nice challenger" ofcourse he replied "thanks..." then i said "check out mine" he walked over and said "oh wow ... what is it :clueless: ?? "i laughed and said "its a 71 Challenger"...

now that i think of it its been called a charger and a mustang .... the mustang one hurt the most...

i also own an 89 Camaro RS ... its been called Trans Am, Firebird, IROC, and everything in between

It is funny most of the time they call it the wrong name. Most of the time they think it is a chager. In highschool
one guy gave me crap about diving a camaro knock off.

Nope, Camaro/Mustang.  :icon16: Most just ask if it runs.  :(

:pullinghair: I have the same problem...  Then I have to clarify these morons that on every side there is a small emblem with the name written on it. Carefully reading it will tell you what the type of this car is. And NO it is not a stang! :banghead:
I plan to make a small laminated (us letter size) ID card that I'll throw on the dash when I leave the car on a park, with crucial data about the car.

We get the same question/comments non stop at recent indoor shows (project on display).  Calling it a Cuda is someone understandable, but a Charger?  Come on!

I keep hoping the new Challenger's presence will help the chevy/ford crowd get it...

I wish that would help everyone get it, most of the chevy guys around here know that it is a challenger, but everyone else thinks its a charger, but when you tell someone that you have an old dodge the first car that pops into their mind is a charger, and i have to take back what i said about no one ever thinking it was a chevy, just a few days ago some kid asked me if it was an SS454  :(  i just said no and drove off

After 25 years of telling my family that my favorite car is a Challenger, my wife is the only one who gets it right.  She doesn't care for it, but at least she finally gets the name right.
