I was buying 3rd party liability insurance on the phone, I emailed the lady all data and then they sent me the policy for a 1970 CHARGER R/T JS29NOE.... hey lady... I know CHALLENGER is a long word but it is not the same as CHARGER

Not surprised at any of these responces.  My Cuda for the 1st 10 years I owned it was listed under my insurance policy as a "Valiant"   I was covered for $2,000 if I totaled my car.  Glad I'm a good driver.
You can call me RAY or RAYMOND or RAZOR or THE ZOR!

When I went and got my plates for my car, I got temp plates too.  The lady had to write Challenger over what she originally wrote.  Yep, Charger.   :bricks1:

Whenever someone calls one of my Challengers a Charger, I generally respond by saying something like;

Actually it's a Challenger, spelled the same way as the ill-fated Space Shuttle Challenger.

The next time they see the car, they usually remember what it is.

some think my cuda is a mustang....  :faint:

I had my A body called a Corvair a couple of times.

And one time I can't forget, shortly after I bought it, a co-worker at the time came up to me, and asked me if I knew who owned that "GTO" in the parking lot.  I told him it was mine, and it was a 67 Barracuda.  He then said to me, in this condescending tone "You bought a Ford?"

I almost slapped him.

I was hoping to go all day today without it being called a charger, however my parents had a yard sale i helped with and some kids at the yard sale kept saying hey look at that charger :banghead:, they were about 14-15.   Hey, at least they knew it was a dodge

I was at a local show yesterday and I heard at least 4 people call it a Charger, including a guy that had a Smokey and the Bandit T/A at the show.  It's amazing how few people know Mopars, but that's one of many reasons why I love ours so much.  29 cars at the show, of which 8 were Camaros, 6 were Mustangs, and only 2 Mopars (72 Duster was the other).  Sorry, but no pics.

I still get it from the people that are fellow car guys...I guess I can't blame them too much, though, because I did have a  '69 Charger before I began this project.  Usually they are pretty good about asking, "How's your project coming along?  What is it again; a Charger or a Challenger?"....One advantage of them having some MoPar knowledge, but it gets old having to explain I am not dropping a Hemi in the car.

LMFAOOOOOOOooooo  :smilielol:

If it helps, I've had people call my G6 a Honda, and my mustangs are usually Thunderbirds.....  :thinkerg:  :bricks1: Anyway, I've called some classics by other names. I think we've all done it or had it done at one time or another. One time I was at a friends who had a Duster. One of his buddies came by, and brought a friend, who of course called it a "Camaro"  :thumbsup:

I've had my 'Cuda called a Charger, Challenger, etc.

...and NO, I'm not putting in a 383 HEMI or 440 HEMI.

Does the average person actually understand how much a HEMI really costs?  Ran one of my co-workers through collecting the parts at Summit.com.  We stopped counting when we hit $10,000.

all the frickin" time! my parents, my sibs, my friends, for some reason it seems it is easier to remember the word "charger" than the word "challenger"
