all the frickin" time! my parents, my sibs, my friends, for some reason it seems it is easier to remember the word "charger" than the word "challenger"

Same here. It bugs me to no end. And then, when we're talking about the charger, they suddenly decide its prime time to practice the pronunciation of challenger. The worst is when you correct them with the wrong one haha... :banghead:

Just got back from Boston Market with my son, guy behind the counter says, "Is that your Charger?", before I can answer I hear the other guy behind counter say, " I think it's a Challenger."

1st guy then says, "Is it a 70?"  I reply yes, it's a 70 Challenger.  We then went on to have a nice conversation, him telling how his dad had a 69 383 Roadrunner.  He also mentions he had Olds Rocket 88, that would pass everything on the road except the gas station.  My son got a kick out of that.   I asked if he regretted getting rid of it.  He says no, it used too much gas, then proceeds to point out the Ford 250 in the parking lot that he drives.

Even my son later asked, doesn't that truck use a lot of gas?  "Yes, and it won't pass anything"   :roflsmiley:

People still come up to me and ask, "Hey! ya got your Charger still???"  Of course, now that I now longer have my Challenger and tell them, Oh no, I got a 'Cuda now, they say, "A What? Is that like a Camaro?"

Really after I think about it I dont let it bother me but I also dont have a whole lot of patience and very little respect for someone who doesnt know enough about cars to tell two very different ones apart. I am not a GM guy but I know the difference between a GTO, Chevelle, 442, GSX. I Know what an AMX and Javelin is but I am not really an AMC guy. I know the difference between a Mustang and a Cougar. I know that a 69 Firebird is different than a Camaro. I am not a jerk about it but I tend to blow people off who try to talk cars but just seem to be talking out their ass.

:clapping: Don't sound like a jerk to me  :cooldancing: anyway's Ive gotten a kick out of reading all your little stories :2thumbs: only thing I can say is Calling a `cuda/Barracuda a Challenger or Camaro is kinda justified since Most people barely have knowledge of their Rice rocket's you cant blame them, but anything else then  :swear:   :blah:

Atleast he asked and didnt just say nice torino. :roflsmiley: I had a girl in my  class the other day ask me if it was an SS. then my dentist actually knew what it was he told me i had a nice challenger, then asked if it was the 440 HEMI.          This one really doesnt anything to do with challengers or cudas but i was talking to a guy the other day that said he had a 1970 firebird formula with a 440 and a hurst 3 speed.
