There's a private collection of mostly junks visible from Interstate 91 near Northampton MA. A friend knew the owner and hooked me up with him when I needed a parts car for a Lincoln for a restoration project and the owner showed me around after we made the deal. The first clue I got that he had some rare stuff was when he pointed out an old Torino that had no glass and was pretty dented. He asked "what do you think that is worth?" and I told him $100. He pointed out the word "Talladega" stenciled on the front door and then I noticed the unique front grille. Some time later I saw the back of a '69 Roadrunner under a ton of junk and a tarp in a lean-to. He told me he bought the car new and put it away after 16,000 miles because it scared him. He asked me what I would give him for it and I said $2,500. He pulled up the tarp and showed me a Hemi badge on the back and said "now what do you think it's worth?". Of course he wasn't planning on selling it.
This was back around 18 years ago. The yard is still there and I often wonder about the Roadrunner.
