Quicktime bellhousing to Tremec TKO

It looks like the Quicktime bellhousing requires a spacer to fit the TKO properly.  Does anyone know: are the spacers supposed to be a friction fit?  The spacer is a little smaller than the retainer on the TKO so I would assume so.   I've tried heating the spacer in the oven (shhh...don't tell the wife) but it still didn't fit. 

Would it be OK to pull the spacer on with the bellhousing (put all 4 bolts in and tighten each a little at a time)?  It would really suck to strip the threads in the bell or crack the transmission.

The spacer / collar you are referring to is a tight tolerance fit.  It does slide into place.  Are sure that you are going in straight and the mating faces do not have any burrs on them?  Is your collar "squashed" or out of round?  I'm just throwing these ideas out there.  If the problem is still an issued, contact Ross at Quick Time.  He a great guy to deal with.

Thanks Tony.  I just found out that the collar is supposed to go on after the bell is attached to the TKO.  I mistakenly thought the collar went on the retainer first, with the flat side towards the TKO and beveled side towards the engine.  In fact, the beveled edge goes towards the TKO.

I'll check the collar and retainer for burrs and run some measurements to check for out-of-round.  When I last test fitted the collar, it went on as far as the bevel on the retainer.  It did look like some gentle persuasion would allow it to continue.  I wasn't sure if this was the norm.
