Need your opinions - Tires on my 70' Cuda
« on: April 05, 2009 - 06:38:57 PM »
Ok... So here we go.  I need your opinions....

When I first got my cuda it had 235/60/15's all the way around on 7" rims.

The car sat low and looked pretty good.

Then when I finished all the work on the car I went with 275/60/15's on 8" rims in the back and 235/70/15 on 7" rims on the front.

I'm not liking the new look so much.  The back wheel wells look stuffed and the back seems jacked up compared to the front.  Although the rear tires are pretty wide, they are also pretty tall.  The car seemed to have much more low end pull with the other tires too.
I'm leaning more towards the same sized tires and wheels all the way around, just not sure about the 235/70/15s.  Trying to do something this week as next week, I'm driving it 4 hours to TN to the grand rod run.  Top end isn't a worry as I have a Keisler 5 speed with a .82 overdrive.

Any recommendations or your thoughts?
Thanks,
Blueglow

I see what you mean.  I see it as well.  I thought the original picture of your car with 7" looked pretty good.

235/60/15 on the front, and 255/60/15 on the back if you aren't crazy about big tires.

If you are going to make a long highway run then the 275/60/15's will keep the rpm's down a bit.

You could go to a 255/60/15R in the rear to go with your old 235/60/15F if the 275 rears look to stuffed to you.

I think the car looks sweet either way. :2cents:
