Parts suppliers
« on: April 05, 2009 - 07:19:05 PM »
Okay, our church group has a 71 Demon that we're about to begin restoring. I'm trying to compile a list of vendors who sell reproduction parts. Year One I know about. The Paddock, I know about them too. How many others are there?

Thanks

Go to www.moparts.com. It is a good place to start. On their web site they have a LONG list of vendors. If you have questions about a particular one, just ask here. There is also a vendor section here on this web site of reputable vendors. Good luck with the car!!! Keep us posted and don't hesitate to ask questions!! :2thumbs:

Moparts.com also has a very good Parts for Sale section specific for each body style.  You'll find a lot of good stuff for A Bodies there.  Also, check out www.texasacres.com for used parts, along with www.tonysparts.com.

Don't forget roseville, nicks, and dantes parts. I have used two of these with great results. Year One shipping is abit high.

:iagree:  I have had great experiences with all three of these vendors, and Year One shipping is more than a bit high.  Last month I needed a brake booster gasket overnighted so I could have a car ready for a weekend show.  They wanted $100 for shipping a gasket that you could have overnighted at the Post Office for $10.  Seriously, I'm not making this up.  Even on normal shipping Year One rapes you.  Most of the time I can find the same parts Year One sells from other vendors, and usually it is cheaper from another source (before shipping costs).  Year One does a lot for the hobby, but their greedy shipping practices really piss me off.  For these reasons I only use Year One if they are the only supplier I can get a certain part from.

Thanks, and keep 'em coming! And yes, the irony of a group of Christian men restoring a car called a Demon has not been lost on us! It is proof positive that God does indeed have a sense of humor!

Randy, you should start a list of items needed & a shipping address, you never know what some of us might have that you need.
