Perhaps my trust in the YO site is too big, but a few of you say that all these prices are wrong??
Since I live in the Netherlands, going to 'the dealer' is not really an option; I've to order it from the States.

The prices at YO seem high, but I believe them to be correct. I just ordered a speedo gear a few weeks back from the dealer I used to work at. They charge me 10% above dealer cost. It cost me $50!!! I was shocked. They said a lot of the gears are being discontinued.

not all of these are avialable from Mopar but alot are. I sold a 38 blue gear and it was still at the old pricing of 9.00.  check with me or your local dealer before jumping to Y/O at 69.95

there are still some on ebay that have a decent price,,but i still cant believe that the prices on year one //more than tripled,,i am going to the mopar nats next weekend and will get another catalog from year one and will ask the rep. hope you find what you need before that but i will check

I checked mine tonight....I have the 33 tooth yellow one in the car now.....

Going 35 but reads 5 mph slow - 5/35 = 14.28% off.  So you need a gear that will spin 14% faster.  A gear with 14% fewer teeth will do that.  As an example, if your current gear has 28 teeth you need a gear with 4 less teeth (28 x .1428 = 4).  But, if your current gear has 42 teeth you need a gear with 6 less teeth (42 x .1428 = 6).

Instead of testing at 35 mph I would test at 60 or 70 for better accuracy.

Ok....I pulled it tonight to look and I have a yellow/33......  33 x .1428= 4.7124

Do I round up (5 fewer) or down (4 fewer) ?  I am thinking of rounding up.....

I still have to check the 60 mph reading like you suggested.....just figured I would see what is in there.

I understand that you'll have to buy another one for a correct speedometer, so if you want to get rid of yours,  sell it to me, please, pretty please, please with sugar on top.

WHOOOOPS!

I went out for a ride today and the speedo is not working now!

Not sure what or how I screwed up.....have to wait for the car to cool down some and then will take a look....

Any ideas?   I put the gear in the unit, the unit into the tranny, lined up the dot with the correct "segment" and then bolted it down....screwed on the speedo cable.....
