    I live on the east side of the netherlands and here we have a centuries old tradition.... Easter fires  :bigsmile:
    I don`t think it`s done anywhere else in the world.  Burning the old wood cut from trees frighten away the evil spirits and give new live a chance... pretty cool to see.

    Today I've gorged myself with different type of meat, cake, and other goodies!
    It's a good thing to celebrate Easter in a multicultural environment like on a seismic ship, with different food traditions from different countries.

    In Scandinavia, the Easter Bunny is known, but the Easter Chick is the star:

    Happy Easter too all of C-C!! Meeting up with the family a bit later. Mom and Dad still like to have dinner on holidays. (80 & 86) I'm looking forward to it!   :grinyes:




    As Easter traditions go.. (Hungarian/Slovak) you get to whip your wife with a willow branch with ribbons tied to it. It's to retain her health and beauty for the year. I really got the "look" when I suggested it this morning. I said I was just trying to keep our ethnic traditions alive!    :dunno:   :bigsmile:
