Oil Dip Stick

My oil dip stick was not all the way in last month and oil blew out into the engine bay ? Is that normal or could there be trouble . Motor is a new rebuild 440 with new PCV valve and about 50 lbs of oil persure . Thanks

Do you have a breather cap on the opposite side valve cover from the PCV?

there is no way a dipstick should push up out of the tube

No but the one the PVC valve is in is also a breather witch is on the opposite side from the dip stick .

Not sure if I pushed it all the way in when I had it out . It hasn't happened again so far . It just strikes me funny that there would be enough pressure to push oil up the dip stick tube .

Bad rings will do that. If it didnt push the tube up, you'd be pissed about a rear seal leak
