From my experiance, you will have to work with all of the parts to some degree, whether they are AMD, Sherman or Goodmark. The new panels are much better than the parts we used to have to deal with back in the 80 and 90's.
After looking at the pictures you have posted, it looks like the quarter panel is way underformed (Stamping die did not come down far enough to properly form the stamping) and the angles are entirely off. This is especially evident in the rear of the quarter wher it is on the tail light panel.
A good body shop should be able to work with the parts and get good results. If a professional body shop can't get good results, then the panel is defective and should be returned to the manufacturer for replacement.
We installed a Sherman quarter on our 70 challenger and the fit was really good. We also did not see any issues around the gas cap like everyone is talking about. Also, the Sherman quarter panels do not have the large hole in the rear.
I still think that AMD has very good panels and I do understand that sometimes a defective panel might be produced and accidentally shipped.
Thanks,
