    Has to be if you plan on running it on most 1/4 or 1/8 mile tracks..

    Mine is where the factory trunk lock cylinder was (power trunk latch)

    the switch can be installed inside the car legally , you just need a removable rod through the body somewhere to activate the switch when at the track
