Ok my 70 Challenger is going to get painted next week and I'm having mixed feelings .Of course I'm trilled about getting it painted . BUT it will be away from me for about 2 weeks . I haven't had it out of my site for that long ever . I might sound childish but I have so many hours and so much money in that car that even with insurance I would die if it disappears or something . Someone say something to make me feel better please .

Go to Bass Pro Shops, get a tent & sleeping bag, camp out at body shop until done!! Bring popcorn. No open fires. That doesn't mix well with paint spray!!

Be patient!!! I've been around body shops all my life and somehow 2 weeks always seems to turn into 2 months or more!!

Yikes!  That hits too close to home.  They didn't get my entire car, but there isn't much left.

You guys aren't helping . Wish I had some kind of tracking chip in it . I thought of hiding a cell phone in the car so the F B I could track the pings if it gets stolen . What's a ping ?

Ok all joking put aside i will feel the same way when my car goes to a shop. Some shops have a big ugly dog that stays there,the shop near me is fenced in w/security cameras.I think the best thing is to make sure they keep it inside so not just anybody driving by can see what hes got.

wow two weeks thats 4.800 clams at 60.00 shop rate and 80 hours ,are they painting the whole car or what .
i think i would be nervous at the time frame and also everyone
knows painters are crooks at least thats what i here on this
site . lets do a pot i will start 395 days till done except at maaco
they will have it done in 5 working days with complete coverage

Only if by "complete coverage" you mean they will also include your bumpers, chrome trim and parts of your windshield. 

And don't forget to make it an annual trip to maaco, since the hastily applied bondo only lasts about that long before it bubbles and rusts your car...

And remember, runs are included, but doorjambs and the inside of your hood are extra

I assume you checked out the shop and asked them to keep your baby inside.  Try not to worry!!!!!

Nice one bullitt your going to put a dog tracking device on a fish.   I think they have that same thing for cars so you can keep track of your wayward teen. oops my bad hes got a chally go ahead and put it on.
