Buddy List
« on: April 15, 2009 - 11:25:40 AM »
They have it on moparts. you can select add to list over there and when you get on line it shows the members you pm most / talk to or whatever.... I know there is a list down here which is fine but can we have like a sublist below that that organizes the members you talk to most on it .....  :dunno:

I hope that made sense...  :2thumbs:

Since I am not a visitor to Moparts, I am not sure how it works or what it is supposed to do.  It would be simple enough to enable a buddy list function, but I would like some more info please.  Basicly, just what does it do, and how does it help members?  Lemme know......

well on moparts there is no list on the bottom. just a mod list online.... I just like the idea of getting on the site and seeing the buddly list instead of looking through all the names of whos online... maybe still keep master list or whatever or maybe not....  :dunno:

I think that's a pretty cool idea. Not sure how complicated it would be to make happen. For me it would be REAL hard as I'm not a computer wizz. That's about as hard as woodpecker lips!! :roflsmiley:

DC.com has a buddy list. You just go in your buddies profile amd click your buddy and add them to your buddy list. If you have any friends.  :misbehaving: Then when your on-line and your buddies are on-line . Their names are in a different color so you can see they are on easier.

An "ignore" list would be much shorter & easier to maintain.

Possibly a good idea,   the only negative thing though is new people may think that some members are part of an exclusive club which will take away from the generally friendly atmosphere we all experience here....     :2cents:

I think it would be cool to have something like the buddy list on here because it is hard to find some you talk to at times if they have not been on for a few days or weeks as some do.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

OK.  I set up a buddy list function.  To enable someone to be your buddy, click on their name and open their profile.  Locate the "Add To Buddy List" prompt and click on that option.  Then click on "Save".  When you have done that, your new "buddy" will appear in bold text in the list of online users at the bottom of the forum page.  Let me know if this helps y'all out....     :2thumbs:
