My experience was interesting , my Duster 3440 lbs with driver & 440 4 spd ran 12.0 with 3.23 gears & 11.7 with 4.30 , the torque really worked with either gear , I think a small block would see more benefit , fi the engine is not that light internally allowing it to rev faster may make no difference as the engine will still slow the rise time , personally I would not do the swap from 4.10 to 4.3 or 4.56 , I doubt he would see much if any gain
