What stands out to me is that 904 tranny doesn't belong. The torque converter would suggest tall gears in the rear, but this is all unimportant since you apparently have a 4-speed tranny to hook up to this engine. It sounds like quite an engine, but I honestly don't know if it's worth that much. Probably not.   :2cents:

Many 340's & 360's came stock with 904 trannies (or the variant 999) :clueless:

Is that true? I have never seen a 340 with anything other than a 727. I dont know about 360's because they made a 2 barrel version didnt they? Sounds odd to me for a high performance engine to come with a 904.   :clueless:

Yep. And many Jeeps as well. My sis had one in here '89 Cherokee sport. Over 200K and never a bit of trouble.

$4k is pretty steep for an engine with 30,000 miles on it. No doubt it cost more than that to build, but a lot can change in 30k miles. Does have some fairly expensive add-ons, but don't forget they're all well used.

I am in  :canada: and am getting my 340 done for 3k with heads, mostly stock. 10.5 is a bit high for pump gas. THe 6 shooter is worth a few bucks (1500) alone. You are paying for a trans you won't use but not a bad deal.

Sunoco Ultra gas is all I've used. Don't know the duration off hand. It's the old .528 Mopar solid grind with 1.7 rockers. :dunno:

I doubt a 475hp small block would have much left after 30k.  There is no info on what parts he has to make the hp either.  I would question that.
