I think my left speaker is in a little different spot than my right so I could have more clearance. Theres a little pocket in there that gives a lot of extra clearance. I also spaced out my emergency brake with washers.

I am kind of tied into what I have for my car. I have a 3 way component set that consists of a 6.5" driver, a 4" mid and a tweeter. Its a JL audio set that should be really nice. My plan is to put a pod together that bolts to the door itself covered in white vinyl that will match the white door panel. The bolts will be hidden inside the pod and you will not see anything but the pod itself. At least thats the plan.

my 5 1/4s fit fine in there.....

Curious, which speaker you used?  Mainly for depth/clearance reasons.   Also, did you modify the stock kick panels or did you use something different?

I used Boston Acoustics (5 1/4") and they worked great.  E-brake wasn't an issue.
