burnout caught by the cops..
« on: March 24, 2002 - 03:10:14 PM »
at the garage it was closing time, it was a very bad day.

all the customers thaught a TIMING BELT WAS A 5 MIN.

JOB. WELL you get the point.  so i fired up my 72

challenger (340-4sp) backed out on the street, and

revved about 5000rpm dumped the clutch. the smoke

was so thick it looked like fog. i was just going around

the block to get gas before going home, when i

returned a cop was setting in the parking of the

garage. i pulled in, turn off the car,

(i just knew that i was busted) the cop got out of

his cruiser and this is what he said" i have a 70 olds

do you think you could make my car run like that?"

SO I TOLD HIM TO BRING IT IN THE NEXT DAY...

then we started talking about cars(the cop was a

new customer that stoped in two weeks before)

he did not say nothing about it and i was not going to

ask!!

WHAT A GREAT WAY TO END A BAD DAY...

gotta love that.  if i ever get caught, i hope my cop acts that same way!  i think the older cars might get a bit more sway with the law.  i hear a lot of the cops like to look at or even own older cars.

You got off lucky!

Like I did one day....

My car insurance was to expire at 12:01 am Oct. 30th
one year. So I drove from one small village into a larger town to fill the gas tank, then park her for the winter. It was about 7 or 8 pm.

Well, I stupidly blew a traffic light that turned yellow. I matted it and blew the light, just in time to see (in the early winter darkness...an RCMP cruiser stopping for the same light, going the opposite way!  :o

Well, I knew I was busted instantly!
Sure enough, in my rearview mirror, I see his red and blue lights come on and he does a U-turn.  :(

I pulled over and shut off.  ::)

He hassled me about not having all my gauges, as well as my insurance about to expire. I told him I have More gauges than factory and that I was about to park the car for the winter, just needed to gas up first.

He let me go!!! No ticket, No Warning!

I am positive, he just wanted to look at what he had no way of catching! (other than radio, helicopter and road blocks!) ;D

Hey guys, we're not all hard asses! Matter of fact, I HATE writing tickets. I've gotten better results by talking to someone when they've gotten a little leadfooted than writing them a ticket.

Mike, I wasn't trying to come down on you, my apologies if it sounded that way. I just wanted to let everyone know that we're human too, and a lot of us (as you found out) would probably rather be out there driving our musclecars instead of a cruiser, but you gotta pay the bills! :) Once again, if I offended you, I apologize!

And I hope I didn't offend you also Heminut!

No disrespect intended on my part either!  :)

I know you guys are human too and could share some pretty neat stories!

I'm game to hear some! 8)

P.S. In fact, I would have liked to have heard the cop who stopped me, tell his comrades the other side of the coin back at the station or coffee shop! I'm sure he had a different story!  ;D

i have a little cousin (about ten) he is in to cars big time.
every time i would fire my car up he run over to see what i was  doing.  i asked him if he had been in a car
that was doing a burnout he said no but his eyes was starting to get big :o so i took the car down the dead end street turn around then started the burnout! his face was priceless. i didn't think eyes could get that big,
then he turned around so he could see the smoke ;D

the next day the teacher ask them to make a list of there favorite people the pick one to write why.THIS IS HIS WHOLE PAPER"MIKE BECAUSE LAST NITE WE DID A BURNOUT IN HIS CAR."   my uncle just gave me that look
your wife gives you...
