Mystery Relay thing
« on: April 19, 2009 - 10:58:21 AM »
My 73 has a 2 pin relay or buzzer with the following part # 3588492 on it. Can anybody id it for me please. The car is not the highest of option listed so maybe could be a headlight warning or similar. It resides over beside the glovebox according to the harness plug location.

My previous description may be fuzzy. The number I posted is correct, it resides on the far right side of the glovebox and it is a flat rectangular boxxy thing. It is not flasher or blinker as they are round.

Thanks. It is the dark blue/brown wires. So this has narrowed it down. Will find out this weekend as after such a long time (2 years plus) I will do some electrical diagnostics and checks (with the starter power wire disconnected) then try her through the key and see what happens. I have gone through this thing from stem to stern and found many attempts by bush mechanics to do wiring. Lots of twisted bare wire and tape joins bound to give trouble so now soldered and heat shrinked.

:iagree:  time delay , I was checking mine and it was my key buzzer relay. It said the other would be the light delay
