    Looks like my overload spring is on the wrong side too..........Didn't mean to hijack this thread but I think we are all learning from this...........

    Alan showed me the easy way to install the adjuster cable, leave the cable off the cable guide, hook the spring on the lever 1st then pull the cable over the guide......much easier than the other way around.

    Tha spring will work, but the factory spring was a long small one. My upper springs were different sizes too.  Here is a pic of my 2 backing plates. Only thing missing is the Adjuster cables and ends.
