to be honest i don't know, i have the car a few hours away with a guy doing some motor work and he was going to do some other stuff for me while he was waiting on parts. all he said is that the body is the same but their an inch to short. why do you ask?

If the jack stands are on the body and the leaf springs are hangin  (suspention) then you have to jack the rear end up to install factory shocks. Either that, or you have the wrong shocks for an e body and they fit something else

these are front shocks, i checked with the place that i purchased them and the part # checks out with their books. the guy doing the work is a top notch mechanic/ mopar guru so i find it hard to believe he's doing something wrong but i will talk to him and clarify the issue. is their any way i can find out compressed length and extended length of a stock shock? the ones the car came with are the comp engineering and i don't know if they are the right shock either.

Stock front shocks are 10.25 fully compressed and 16.5 fully extended.

Most peope dont bottom out their suspension is my guess. If he compresses the suspension he can get them on but if the suspension does full travel it will blow the shock out.

should be no issue just raise the front suspension so it bolts up , you may never hit the frame bumpers before the shock is fully extended but you should hit them anyway unless you are jumping the car
