I've seen advertisements for an "orphan" car show which features brands like Kaiser, Packard, Studebaker and others.  Will GTO's, Trans Ams and the rest of the Pontiac line be welcome at these shows soon?
For that matter, are Plymouths currently welcome at Orphan car shows?

Nice Trans Am!  What year is that car?  Is it an '81 with a  4.9 litre engine?  If so, my sister used to have a white version of what looked like this car.  White gold eagle/trim, tan interior, T-roofs, WS6 handling package (Love the WS6 rims!).  I loved that car.  Got totalled in an accident about 25 years ago. 

It is sad about the possible demise of Pontiac.  IMO, they had some cool cars.  I drove the GTOs when they came out in 2004.  I thought they were decent cars but the name doomed it.  Should have been called something other than a GTO IMO.  The G8 sedan looks cool but I hardly have seen one on the road for some reason.  Looks like a nice sedan.  I think they can be had with a 6 speed manual tranny too which is nice.

Rallye, Mine is a auto with a '69 350HP 400, but I had a 79 that was a 400 4 speed.  That car ran really good for a 79 model.  It was rated at 220 HP which sounds weak but it ran harder than my 396 Camaro.

Y84 was the designation for the Black/Gold special edition models with the Fisher (large) T-tops.  Y82 was the Black/Gold special edition with the Hurst (smaller) T-tops which was the Smokey & the Bandit car.  Y81 was the special edition without T-tops.  Y88 was the 78 Gold Special edition with brown metallic pin stripes.

It's a 80 with a 69 350HP 400 w/turbo 400 tranny, was originally a 4.9 without the turbo but it didn't have an engine or tranny when I got it.  It was a WS6 car and it came with a bunch of rust so I had to put a lot of work into it to make it look like this!  Thanks for the compliment!

Since we are showing Trans Am's, I figure I would throw my first new car I ever purchased on here.
I still love this car.  1998 T/A with Ram Air.  43K miles. 

  Does Pontiacs closure have a date or are they just hauliting car production right now?

  Australia has a stronger union movement than America in the car industry so wages are higher and we have a government that pushes environmental issues even when the facts say otherwise. Our cars are more expensive than the American equivalent, our Holden is rebadged as Chev in China & Mid Eastern countries.   

  You are right though, the boards of ALL major companies only care about how they can keep their pockets full of our money and are quick to blame the workers when the boards make the wrong decisions.

Actually I was referring to Korea, and eventually China when cars made there inevitably start being sold here. Are any Australian made cars even sold here now, other than the recent GTOs I don't think any new cars from Oz have been sold here in the U.S.?
