me and my pals often jest about no more parts to be had stashed away like in the 80's.
in illinois(where i grew up), indiana, and wisconsin there was always hidden stashes to be ferretted out. i was rather good at it. lots of mopar parts and to many old harley , indian and henderson parts crossed my path on a regular basis. so regular, my pals tagged me with "what else ya got" for a nickname.that was the question i so often asked in a conversation, that almost always led to a killer score. long story short, i met a new friend today. it all started out with a craigs list ad.

i cant link the page, im sure its deleted by now.
natch, i jumped into action.
i left an e-mail asking him what he wanted for all of it, and to call me.
he responded, and after some schedule juggling, he agreed to meet me. while milling around,( there was stuff all over, you name it, car stuff, furniture, housewares, all over the yards!) and chatting, he mentioned he may have some other mopar parts lying around. so after digging through alotta stuff, and i must emphasize that...i found
4 nice early rallye wheels with centers
2 440 motors, 1 with a deep sump pan and an s stamped on the boss
check out the rerouted oiling.
the other , a bare block, but after digging, found all the internals. 6 sets of 440 heads, lots of water pumps, alternators, a box of cool old school carb adapters, a beautifull 72 to 74 grille center section.
a fantastic steering column(hehe) its in great shape!!!, although dirty. and another rimblow with 1 crack in it, but otherwise a nice piece. lots of trim stuff, and some stuff so rusty, ill have to take a day and i.d. it. all in all i think i did pretty good. he wouldnt tell me what he wanted for all of it, just make me an offer he kept saying. so here me and my son are, standing over piles of parts, and i go... hows a hundred bucks to start?
he goes, gimme 95 and its all yours. i gave him 140.00 and loaded up. 2 trips later, and my cup overfloweth with sweet mopar goodness.
check out this trim in the original packing!!!
