Howdy, newb here (here is the link to my intro,
http://www.cuda-challenger.com/cc/index.php?topic=57658.0) with a coupla questions about my P.G. shifter and throwout bearing, unrelated to each other, of course.
I am having serious problems with the shifter
A. Getting stuck in reverse, feels like I'm gonna break something
B. Not engaging second when all linkage lined up using the 1/4 in dowell method
C. Not engaging first when adjusted slightly off from dowell method to engage second
Are ya still with me?
D. Shifter seems to be "funny" is the only way to describe it, while in neutral, I have to push slightly left to engage first and second. This feels all wrong since I would think that to engage first and second you would simply go forward and back, but nope it's third and fourth.
As for the throwout bearing, it is whining, it is a new mcleod clutch and bearing set installed in 98 to get the car running.
Should I just let it whine till it gets real bad (I just want to drive the car a little this spring/ summer) and change it later, or will the thing leave me stranded somewhere if I don't take action on the fly?
This is the only manual mopar I own and the 833 is a bit of a mystery to me, so any help would be extremely helpfull
Thanks in advance
