It does seem cheap.  Wonder if it is a type O or something.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

Yes,they are cheap.

The Mopar brand deep pan is a nice one, they used to be $45,now they are $95  :screwy:

The chrome one is cheaper  $69  (again)  :screwy: If you go with ANY chrome pan,I HIGHLY recommend that you sand the gasket surface with a dual action sander or it will try to leak on you.

This one is the best deal now.

Found that stamped steel mopar part number at Monicatti for $55.....!

Though I like the look of the chrome....

Does the finned aluminum one really cool that much better where it is worth $100?

The aluminum one cools a little more, but it is nice for the rigid pan gasket sealing surface. I don't know why Summit is higher than everyone else on the steel pan. :dunno:

I wouldn't use a deep tranny pan that doesn't have internal baffles in it to control the oil. The tranny has windage losses just like an engine. Not the hot setup to have a gallon of fluid slinging around on the internals when you launch and all the fluid rushes to to the rear of the pan and climbs up into the case. Yet another parasitic loss to slow you down. A good large cooler is a better way to control temps and add oil capacity at the same time. Also a filter extension that isn't sealed right will burn up your tranny in record time if it sucks air. :2cents:
