Power Booster Source

Finally had enough, and want to replace the power brake booster/master cylinder combo and would like to know a good source?

Only sources I know of for boosters are the rebuilt units available from any parts store, new master cylinders about the same. You might consider having Booster Dewey rebuild & refinish yours for just a little more than the poorly finished parts store pieces.

I had Brake booster Dewey re build my Hemi Booster. But if you want to buy one outright and not hassle with the exchange deal, you can go thru Jims Auto Parts. He sells boosters and brake master cylinders.

Jim's prices are insane.  I never pay more than 150 from kragens for a master/booster combo.

Some are factory correct apprearing and some aren't.

Buyer needs to use their own discretion if they want OEM look or not. I wouldn't think any at CSK are factory correct appearing.

Gloss black for '70.

The booster, master cylinder, bail, lid & check valve were all painted as an assembly.

I bought mine last month from autozone.  I saved about $20 buying the booster and M/C separately versus buying the booster and M/C combo.

Thanks for the pic.  Looks like they sent you the correct MC (small front resevoir, large rear).  Was this from Cardone?

Yes it was cardone.  Everything was almost the same.  The new booster has a spacer that goes between it and the master cylinder.  Other than that it was all good.

Thanks.  The booster/MC combo unit I originally purchased from Napa, which had equal size resevoirs (front & rear), also had the spacer.  I assumed it was associated with the particular MC they sent me.  Apparently not, based on what you received.  Any idea what the purpose of the spacer is?

Well this is my guess only....I think its for the rod length that comes out from the booster.  Even though the rod is adjustable, I think the spacer keeps it in the "ball park" without any need for additional adjusting.  Below is a picture of the factory original booster.
