I have my fuel cell in and was reading the rule book and I want to replace my fuel line all the way forward with 1/2" line. The rule book says it must be mettallic - so my question is " Can I use copper line?

Kind of what I thought .... and I have a couple spools of copper from 5/16 - 3/8 and 1/2 inch plus bigger stuff. Rulebook just says non-oem lines must be metallic, steel braided or nhra approved woven or woven push lock. but I think I will paint it too look like steel lines anyway ...LOL

Careful though ............. copper anneals (hardens) over time with vibrations and will become brittle and possibly break. That is one reason the factory does not use copper - plus the $$$$ compared with steel.

Ya copper prices shot up in the last 6 months or so - But this is the good stuff (schedule 80) and I bought it when prices were way down for a cryogenic tempering business I had a few years ago ... seems a shame to waste it

:iagree: We don't allow copper lines in the stock car world! They break with vibration!
