ok.. opinion and knowledge time guys..

I got my seat belts back from Ssnake-oyl -

They used a dark blue belt- All repro sets that are out these days are "bright blue" like the exterior of the car.. but I do remember when I sent in all my originals they were not bright like that but a darker, greenish blue.. really deep color. You can see by my red arrow in the pic of the restored belt that it has a slight greenish tint that I am talking about.. I am taking them Sunday to lay in the interior and see how it all looks together. My questions to you are- were E body blue belts "bright"? Look on the Ssnake-oyl page here, they list a #400 "electric blue" that seems nuts on with B5 interior, but looking at my old pics of my car, should they be the darker blue? http://www.ssnake-oyl.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=Ssnake-Oyl&Product_Code=BWB&Category_Code=SB_WEBBING

This seatbelt resto was very expensive, and I want this car to be a s correct as possible.. what are your opinions? Does anyone even have blue interior thats reading this? Ssnake Oyl had my original stuff in hand and color matched the sample they sent to me, I know things also fade over time, so I really do not think original blue belts were "bright"--- let me know your thoughts.. I do not know what they looked like in 1970, but all the original blue pieces I purchased on ebay have been the darker color.

This was taken with a flash, so it's slightly brighter then actual color, but these were parts sent to Ssnake Oyl...

those belts look stunning...but, seems to me they should be more blue...  :dunno:  looking at the pic of the belts before you sent them, reminds me of the color I had in my 69 belvedere, the restored version looks too black imo.  Could be pitures, I dunno, but the unrestored version looks familiar to me.

I agree with Bart that they look too dark. They look nice obviously, but with money spent they should be raeally close. Maybe check over on Moparts?

Here are some shots of the belts laying on the seats. We are going to use them for the show in a few weeks, but then I am probably going to have them completely redone after that. They are just a little too dark- like grey/blue instead of the more greenish or turq blue the old belts were. New sets up blue belts are way too light in color- not much I can do at this point since we need the interior in the car asap.

YES- this is Frank's Organosol, and 340/440 engine paint, and air cleaner orange is about to get sprayed on as well.
The organosol is perfect.. awesome look and texture!

thanks --

btw--  for what its worth, I kinda like the color of the belts.   adds some contrast in a sea of medium blue...  LOL

Haha, I am tell you, that restoring a blue interior is probably one of the most difficult things in this hobby. It has made me nuts many times.
The buckles and plastic hardware are what really look weird..especially against the carpet. We may color match them with the paint we used for the seat button hardware. Once it is all in this week I'll shoot a bunch of shots to show you. It is always hard showing true color with blue parts in the photographs, but with my new camera, all of the above shots look on the money.
Thanks for your opinions, it helps!
