THANK YOU!! I am back in town, and heading down to the shop to meet Galen G tomorrow morning. He is going to do his thing and look over it for a couple of hours. The next show I am in will be the Muscle Car And Corvette Nationals in Chicago this November. One of the nicest shows I have ever seen!! Excited to be there the whole weekend.

haha. The next show is in a few weeks!
Working on correcting a couple of items that Galen pointed out, then having it judged in the Muscle Car & Corvette Nat's in Rosemont Nov 16-18.
Glad I will be able to actually be at  the show this time and not on vacation.
MCG is doing a shoot that weekend with it with a model too!

He told me I did a good job and that only a few things were wrong.. Like five I think. Obvious was we did not install the back washer hose yet on the inside of the hood (we knew about that), this was hidden and nobody could see it really.. We needed to remove the hood to drill for the clips still. The major thing was my leaf springs were aftermarket Mopar. We are disagreeing with the rest though-
He said my glove box should not have a lock (there's two TA challengers and another 70 Cuda in the shop, all have locks being console cars) and the rubber shield inside the passenger wheel well that's clipped to the frame rail, he is saying goes inside the engine compartment and not in the wheel well where the undercoating is...

Overall it was a good experience.. There's a lot of negative feedback from people but I was happy to get the certification done.
I felt it couldn't hurt.

regarding the rubber wheel well shield, the go on the outside of the inner fender, so it can be removed easily when the tire if off.  i have my old ones, and you can tell by the dirt marks and the cut of the rubber that it was always on the outside.  now that being said, maybe at the factory, some came one way, and some the other way.  but the practical aspect says they were on the wheel well side.

I was the first to take my car apart and have been around it since it was new. In my case the passenger shield was in stalled on the inside of the well. It's entirely possible though that the factory put some of them on the outside and some inside.

There is a factory drawing that shows how the line workers were "supposed" to install the shields.  That may not have always happened.  According to the drawing, the DS shield is installed from the wheelwell.  The PS is installed from the engine comp.  That's how they were installed on my car from the factory.

haha.. I've seen hundreds of them on the internet, all outside.. but, for sure things can be done differently in different plants, or even shifts at that.
My dad said to me when the car was finished- "Wow, all that money, time, and research, just to reproduce what drunk guys on the night shift did in Detroit back in 1970" I laughed, and then cried... hahaha. YEP!

It could be correct both ways... either way, we are not changing it. Springs, yes.

Galen was way more excited when I told him about my Satellite then the AAR.. it is such a weird car, and early 68 build.
