Wow, the car's looking fantastic.

I have another question for you.  I read a post by a guy that restores wiper motors, blower motors exc...for a living that all factory blower motors were silver cad plated.  He said that the factory replacments were painted black.

I see yours is black.  Is that correct?  Just wondering.http://www.julesdaddio.com/plating.html

Good question... I've seen original, or NOS motors on ebay and the internet, and they were both silver or black. I was never really 100% on it. I'm trying my best to make it all original, I know it will not be OEM Gold certified, (I wish! ) But I'm still learning about this stuff all the time. I do need to paint it a glossier black before I put my dash in. I'm sure when it's at the Nat's next year, it will get picked apart by the judge somewhat... my paint job (blue) is a show type finish, so that pretty much throws off everything right there!

Thanks for all of the great comments guys! It took so long to get to this point!

hey rudy,

awesome build man  :bigshades:    I was wondering if there is a special reason for placing the windshield before putting the dash back in ... I always had the feeling it would be easier the other way around...  :dunno:

I haven't seen this thread till now - great job! You're really getting to the good part now!

On my '70 which I've been around since it was new, the blower was silver cad plated.

Why yes there is... it's called people not listening to instructions..! haha... I wanted to also paint the organosol under the window too, but I came in one day and both windows were in place.. so I hope the dash will go in ok....
