To support the theory that different plants or even shifts did things their way: my car never had a 'Cuda insignia on the tail panel. It's the only one I've ever seen that way.

Rudy your car looks great. I think that back in 60s and 70s quality control at Chrysler wasn't much of a priority so there is a lot of variation in the way the cars got assembled. My AAR has a console and the glove box does not have a lock. The date codes for the gauges in my car were from Oct of 69 and the car was built in April so they weren't following FIFO at all. I'm excitetd to see your car at the Muscle Car & Corvette Nat's in Rosemont  I'm not sure which day we will be there it sounds like a great show.

Cool! I will be there all weekend, except for Sunday AM - I get back there Sunday around 4/5pm.
I'm going to have to dig up old photos of my car when it was first tore down years ago.. maybe I have a shot of it somewhere..
(thank you for posting Kielbasa)

The AAR looks fantastic, just awsome :jumping:
You should call John Marshal and I would bet he remembers about the glove box lock and possibly about the splash shield.Plus he finished his 340 duster and he has been taking quite a few trophys around here and was pulled aside for a calander photo shoot a couple of weeks ago at a show on the Hudson.

That splash shield should be an easy fix. The shields were missing on my car, I would have assumed they both went in the fenderwell.

Well, it was a very exciting weekend for many reasons!

I got to meet Tx9! i am so sorry we did not get to talk more, it was a crazy moment dealing with the magazine shoot, but it was great to finally meet someone on the forums!!

My car took a concourse gold award, scoring 997 / 1000 points at the Muscle Car Nat's in Chicago!!! Along with that I got a Celebrity Choice Award from MCG!

In the same day, Mopar Collectors Guide shot the car for the March issue cover that will hit the news stands in JANUARY!! I am so excited about this.

Then, Galen showed up with my packet.. I found out my car is a 1 of 1 ! and only 37 AAR's have blue interior! With my options it is a very rare thing to have a 1 of 1 TA car he said. I dont care how many people knock this guy, I have googled for eight years and never found out any of this stuff, so to me, it was worth every penny!

Here are a few show pics. When we pushed the car in front of the white curtains, it came alive! Thats the best I ever saw the look was right there.

Thank you! Well.. my friend who restored the car was the only person in the shows history to get a full 1000 points on a car (last year with a 68 HEMI Charger)
After that they said nobody will ever score 1000 again.. I am not sure if there was controversy over it or not, but they say now "there are no perfect cars" I guess.. (whatever)
On my car, they had two judges spend over an hour on it who found nothing.. so they brought in other judges who found:
1) a small scratch on my passenger side glass
2) a tiny scratch on my steering wheel
3) the steering shaft should be black and not natural metal finish

I was overwhelmed, and happier then a pig in &*@# when I saw the score, and was ecstatic that those were the only things wrong. I cant say enough about what a great job
The Finer Details did on my restoration. It is weird being afraid to touch your own car now or to be nervous to sit in it.. nuts I know, but the car looks that good to me.

Rudy congratulations on winning  Gold your car is beautiful. The pictures that have been posted don’t do it justice I was more impressed when I saw it in person. I wish we would have had time to talk more,  but you had a lot going on when we stopped by.  I was with 2 friends of mine and we were all going different direction the show was full of outstanding cars. I did talk with Ken what a great  guy, he took time out of his very busy day to talk to me about my AAR. What other plans do you have for the AAR?
