Erie health care in Mexico. I was there a few weeks ago.  The Motel was a couple of blocks from the hospital.  The front of the hospital was packed full of people waiting. And they were all waiting around outside to.  The worst of it was the coffins that were there with bodies in them right where they were waiting.  I found that really creepy. But it seemed normal to them.

No , I am not sick and dont believe I brought the virus back with me

I guess the big scare was that 50 million people died in the 1918 outbreak.  Looks like this one isn't too strong though:

I can't for the life of me figure out what the big deal is.  It turns out only 12 deaths in Mexico have been confirmed to the virus.  The only death in the US to date was a Mexican child who was visiting in the US, and no other confirmed deaths in the world.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't tens of thousands of people die every year from the typical flu bug?  What the he11 is the big deal?  I don't have a problem with erring on the side of caution, but why spend Billions of dollars on a vaccine that won't even be available until the fall?

My 2 year old did last week, and it was nothing different from the regular flu.  In most of the confirmed cases outside of Mexico, they are not even confirmed until after the patient has recovered, many of which did not even receive any special kind of treatment.  the whole scare was started because the moronic Mexican officials ridiculously over exaggerated their numbers.  I just don't understand why we are going to spend Billions, plus the lost money from the travel restrictions, etc.

That's why I cancelled my trip I had planned this Sunday to Puerto Vallarta.
It's not worth taking chances getting yourself and everyone else sick.

The only people dying are people with weak immune systems anyway. The Media is blowing this WAY out of proportion. I just saw on the local news (which I never watch, it was on for 2 minutes) that all the schools in the Dallas/Fort Worth are closing. People fall into the media's hands way too easy.

Bird flu was a huge scare too, remember? They had pics of people walking around with masks on and stuff. And guess what, it never amounted to anything! Modern medicine is too strong. Diseases that caused many deaths in 1900 can be easily remedied now.

Anytime I start feeling a little sick I start eating a ridiculous amount of Vitamin C. It will help you get well  faster than any Robitussin or Vicks or whatever.

As we get older, we cant fight the syptoms as easy. My grandfather , aunt and uncle died from having the flu. Almost killed my mother. Some get so weak they cant cough and end up with water in their lungs.

Im not familiar with the swine flu, but I do know that I dont want it, and dont want to spread it.   The loss of 1 life is too much.

Eat garlic, lots of it.

It has a lot of Vitamin C, & it has the added benefit of keeping other folks away from you.

It certainly does seem to be way over exeragerated, at this pont in time anyway. But it is just common sense logic that means taking obvious precautions to stop it's spread. Like another has stated there are like 35,000 deaths each year in the U.S. from what is called seasonal flu. I'm no doctor, but I don't think you actually die from "flu", but those with weak immune systems who catch the flu (any kind of flu virus) develop pneumonia in their lungs and the water build up there is the actual cause of death.  I'm lucky in that I very seldom get sick, but I have in past years had flu symtoms a couple times. And two years ago I got bronchitis..............I was like three weeks getting over that, that **** will knock you down hard and quick. Should have went to the doctor  :roflsmiley: I did call for an appointment, ten days they said. Hell, in that length of time I'd be better.............or dead.  :smilielol:

Heres my  :2cents: .   My mom is a pharmacist and has been doing some research on the "swine flu". If a baby, elderly person, someone with an immune difficency disease (bassically anyone with a weak or not fully developed immune system) gets this then yes it can be VERY serious, but so is the regular flu when someone like taht gets it. if you are over about 12 years old and have a normal immune system and you get the swine flu then you will get put on some meds, most likely tamiflu, and you will just be sick for a few days, thats it. tamiflu so far is the most effective at treating the swine flu once you have it, there is no preventative medication yet. The rumor that the pharmacys will only beable to order 3 doses of tamiflu per week is also BS. If you are that worried about it just drink some vitamin shakes or something like Boost or Ensure to help you get the vitamins and minerals taht you need to help strengthen your immune system. There have been 141 confirmed cases in the USA so far, and one death, and it was a 27 month old BABY. Even if it does break out, that is a mortality rate of less then 1%. Everyone is freaking out about nothing, its not like its the bubonic plauge, that wiped out 75% of the population of europe in the 1500's.
