They are hitting lots here in the Bay Area. Steven's Creek Chevrolet had a yellow one and a blue GM promo car.

There are red and yellow ones at the car show that is setting up right now. They have them under covers so we cannot see them yet. I guess they aren't to proud of them .

They are pretty awesome, we have about 12 outside of the office.  Unfortunately, only the higher ups get to drive them right now.  I really like the lines of the car, and the interior is awesome.  They even have the four gauges mounted in the center console just like the old ones.  There is also much more room under the hood, the engine isnt buried under the cowl like the last generation.  The fricken V-6 gets over 300HP and 30MPG, which is Mustang GT territory.  The direct injection helps tremendously with that.  The brakes are absolutely huge, over 14" in diameter all the way around.
Tomorrow I may get to drive one after they demo the cars to us.  They are bigger than the old ones, but nowhere near the size of the Challenger.  I think they weigh like 3700lbs, which is pretty light considering they have more power than the Challenger.  The SS also gets 25MPG, and loaded it is under 37K.  I'm not gonna lie, I think when the time comes I will buy it over the Challenger.  It beats it down in every area except style possibly, and it is 10K less.  I think Chrysler needs to step it up now and start another horsepower war (wishful thinking.)

I saw the interior on another site.  I cant believe some of you guys like it, it looks like somebody barfed legos all over it.  Thats how cheap and plasticy it looks.

Ick.

And check out this piece of modern engineering.  Wheel weights stuck on calipers.   :faint:

"Official" explanation from GM:

"Some early Camaro customers noticed that there are weights on the Camaro SS calipers. With high-performance vehicles like the Camaro SS, minor brake noise is not uncommon. The weights act as a damper to reduce noise in certain driving conditions. This was done after careful evaluation and validation by our engineering team. These weights will only be added to early builds of the Camaro SS."
