Chrysler is broke and refuses to deal on the New Challengers

  What's the deal here.  I tried to buy a New Challenger today, and they seem to think it is a JOKE.  They would only come down 2,000.  BFD.  I left.

I think it is partly because the Challenger is one of the few cars that they are moving. Maybe they will have a huge sale when they reopen operations in a couple of months.

I just returned home from the Dodge dealer myself.  I made an offer of 40k plus tt&l on an SRT8 that they have in stock.  They brought me back a sheet for a LOADED R/T 300 miles away and said they could sell me that car for 40k plus tt&l.  The sticker on the R/T was $39,640.  Needless to say I am still without a car.

Yes, My Brother is a Engineer for GM (discount 4 me) and it seems GM is better to deal with...Not to mention more realible on the road.

If GM is the same as Chrysler, just because you get an employee number for a discount it is still up to the dealership to honor it.  Chrysler dealerships were not accepting them for up to a year after the 300s came out.  Why should they discount a car they know they can sell for over sticker, unless you have a personal connection with them?  I wish you the best of luck, and enjoy your GM car.  As for reliability, it's a crap shoot no matter who you buy from.  I drive 20-25,000 miles a year (in a Chrysler minivan by the way), and see all makes and models broken down on the side of the road.

I wish anybody working at GM luck holding onto their job. 1,000 dealershps are supposed to get the ax this coming month and GM will also be bankrupt by their deadline unless God intervines. As for reliability, I thought that was the reason the Camaro went out of production in the first place. It had a horrible quality and reliability record.

Agreed, Have you seen the side by side with the Camaro, Mustang and the Challenger.  Our beloved Challenger looks like a boat it's so big!  I can just imagine the aftermarket of cheap (cost) parts for the new Camaro as well.

Well then maybe you Chevy folks should go to the Camaro message board!       It's getting kind of old with people coming on a Mopar board crying how great the Chevy's are.     I hope you enjoy your new Camaro as much as I enjoy my Challenger. By the way it never has or never will have the class the Challenger has!!!!!!!     Just my

Chrysler Corp. is not selling the car to you, so I don't understand how you expect them to "deal" on the car.  Chrysler Corp. makes the Challengers and sells them to dealers who sell them to you.  There is no relevant connection in your example between Chrysler Corp.'s bankruptcy (reorganization) and the car dealer that owns and sells the car.  The price and whether to sell are determined by the dealer, not Chrysler Corp.  Besides, the Challengers are in pretty good demand, so a $2000 discount isn't bad.  I assume you didn't try to seriously negotiate further?

Although sticker price will be irrelevant when the car debuts (and for some time to come) are you saying the base Camaro will cost $12,000 and the R/T equivalent will be $22,000?  Otherwise I don't see where your "10 grand less" figure comes from.

Depends on the dealer, and how STRONG you ARE.  I got my r/t for nearly 6k off sticker.  Deals  CAN be had.!!!
