Ego Stroking
« on: May 02, 2009 - 06:41:37 PM »
O.K. so I have to stroke myself here.....er....I mean my ego  :naughty:  I won 1st place in the class I entered at the Park-n-the-Park show here in Albuquerque.  This is a fair size show for this area and it's really nice to be out on a grass field rather than a hot parking lot.  Second show the car has been in locally and the second 1st place.  I beat out a nice Superbird, 71 Charger R/T as well as a few other Mopars and Mustangs.  These are beauty contest shows and not based on orginality, but I'll take it.  It nice getting some recognition after all the time, hard work and $$$ for the restoration  :woohoo:

Thanks all  :2thumbs:  Lots of hot rods and customs at the show as well as several rat rods like the one parked next to me.  Funny thing was I had to keep people from sittin on my Challenger while admiring and taking pics of that rat rod  :pullinghair:  The last show he parked next to a 70 HEMI Challenger and nobody paid any attention to the Challenger  :grinno:  It is a very cool rod and it belongs to a good friend of mine.  It cracks me up how much attention it gets...something different I guess.  Here are a couple more Mopars from the show.

Congratulations!
You had some real though competition there! :2thumbs:

Funny thing was I had to keep people from sittin on my Challenger while admiring and taking pics of that rat rod  :pullinghair
I've become loath to participate at car shows in a nearby city, because some people there just doesn't have any manners at all, in a way not encountered elsewhere...  ...yet...

But if I ever see someone SIT DOWN ON MY CHALLENGER (!) I'd totally flip over.
Once, at a metal festival in Germany, a civility challenged person deliberately stopped my car to spill a lot of alchoholic beverage all over it. I literally flew out of the car, and by repeatedly applying a folding rule to his person, I convinced him to cease his activity and do his best to restore the overall appearance of my vehicle as it were.

See, it's even possible to describe kicking someones ass in a polite manner. Not placing ones posterior on another persons car should be a cakewalk. Some people...  :swear: :banghead:

Btw, got some more pics of that rat rod?  :naughty:
