New wheels on our Chally
« on: May 03, 2009 - 04:21:50 PM »
Finally, after quite some trouble with non-fitting rims and relocating the springs, our Challenger is back on the road with new wheels.  :bananasmi Here are some first impressions. Cheers

The fronts are 235 rubbers on 15x7 wheels with 4.5" bs and the rears are 275/60/15 on 15x10 with 5.5" bs. Had to relocate the leafsprings and used a 3" kit to do the job, now everything works fine. Plenty of room on the inside and also towards the fender lip. The rims are Weld Racing Draglites.

Looks great!

The black on this car looks so deep black for some reason.   Don't know how else to say it.  :dunno:  Very nice!  :grinyes:

1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

I thought guys here have 275's without having to relocate?

Either way, looks great.

Well, most likely because we spent the whole saturday cleaning and polishing it to mirror-like finish. Used the SONAX "Color Nano Pro" Wax & Polish for black (with Carnauba wax). It's tough work and i still couldn't get rid of all the stains under my fingernails, but it's definitely worth the effort. I didn't see even one car shine like ours on last saturdays carshow.  :picture:

Thanks, i also thought that 275s would fit. But obviously they won't on 10J rims and especially not with 5.5" bs. Go for 8J wheels and 275s and you should be fine, but then they don't look as wide.

If i knew before that i'd have to relocate the springs, i'd probably have stayed away from this wheelsize. But now that it's complete, i'm more than happy with the result.
