On my 400 I can really feel it nose over and lose power. Try getting on the highway a couple times and see when it noses over. But my 400 has a short stroke so it needs the extra rpm.

That would be an excellent way to decide when to shift for street driving.  When you are on the clock and hundredths of a second count, if you wait until you feel it nose over, you are toast........     :burnout:

I shift at 5500 thru my gears on my automatic and it seems to be fine at that rpm.

Well it had a Road Runner 4 barrel intake, holley carb, windage tray and dual exhaust. It needed the 335 cam and springs to give it the extra power I suspect. It was still a torque monster from idle up though. Was a lot of fun for what it was.
