Burnouts!
« on: December 23, 2001 - 05:24:02 PM »
Hi members!

I remember the day Chryco and I installed my LineLock on the '74 Duster!

Towards evening it was, pissing down rain and I was frustrated at the weather for testing.  >:(

Well, my wife at the time prodded me into driving to a shopping mall parking lot to see how the LineLock worked even though it was pouring.  ::)

We get there, and drive over to a section of the lot that didn't have any cars around.  ;)

So I stand hard on the brakes, press the switch, release the brakes and......WHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!

It works!  8) The car is not moving, and I am watching my tach as I go from 1st to 2nd to 3rd... just lettin her rip in the rain!  8)

The entire car filled up with so much smoke I had to stop!  ;D

We come crawling out coughing and spitting and laughing!  :D

Just then we hear sirens!!!! I thought "Oh no!, its the cops!"
But we soon see fire trucks!! I was just freakin', thinking I was in for a major embarassment now!  :-[  :'(

But no, the fire trucks went past the mall, and to who knows where?  ::)

Whew! That was enough excitement for now! We decided to look the car over and soon discovered MAJOR Melted rubber Hanging in gobs and spiderwebs off the rear 1/4's and bumper!!!  :o I just wish we had a camera or a video that day!  ;)

Whew!  That sounds like a blast! I've done some pretty cool smoke shows, but never like that.
I think when the weather gets better I might throw on some old balonies and melt em down good just to say I've been there! ;D

I moved away from the city shortly after the 440 install.

Not very much to hunt in this small town!

Have to keep a low profile with this car too. RCMP stopped me for going through a yellow light one time. No ticket, but hassled me about not having all the proper gauges! Huh? AND Duh! I have all the normal gauges plus tach, oil press. and fuel press.

Maybe he just wanted to see the car?  ;D

The Duster was originally Red with white stripes.

I wanted to paint it Hemi Orange & Black. Wife at the time said YUCK! So I said okay Sublime!! Wife said Double Yuck!!! It ended up yellow & black.

My other thoughts were, Gold & black, White & black, Plum crazy & black like this: although this one doesn't have the black...

...also, Black & black and then blue like my Dakota & black!!!

There you have all my dream colours for the car!  8)
