PA Viper Club of America Covered Bridge Tour (56K Beware)
« on: May 04, 2009 - 01:08:25 PM »
Hey guys,

I haven't been around much, primarily because the Stratus and Viper have been taking a lot of my attention (mostly to keep the RUNNING) and the 'Cuda still sits at home in PA.  That, and I become unemployed in 5 more weeks, so I've been a little distracted!

However, I managed to get the Viper fixed up (long story) and got over to PA last weekend for a Covered Bridge Tour.

Myself and 19 other Vipers, ranging from 1992 through 2009, drove through 12 covered bridges and covered roughly 90 miles in Lancaster County, PA - otherwise known as "Amish Country."  It was absolutely beautiful.

Here are some pictures - please enjoy.

I'm the second black Viper in this shot...

Very cool!  Looks like you had a great time!   Thanks for sharing the pics.
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

Lol, yeah....  ...no....  :)

Funniest part is that I'm at least 5 to 10 years younger than anyone else out there.  I think they saw me there and just figured I saw all the pretty cars and wanted to come look at them...

Then I get INTO one of 'em...  :)  I mean I met a lot of people, but I would say my ownership of a Viper is about the only thing I have in common with most of them!  Although the one woman I met - her and her husband have a yellow Viper, a yellow Prowler, and a yellow '71 Cuda.

It was really an amazing experience...  I mean from Carlisle to Viper Days and tons of events in between, I've seen and photographed hundreds of Vipers.  I've seen 'em movin' and I've seen 'em standing still.

But to look up ahead and see that endless line of them - taking the turns and revving the engines - and to have a few more snarling at you in the rear view mirror...  ...and being IN ONE OF THEM all at the same time...

It was Nirvanna.

I estimated over 10,000 horsepower with 200 pistons, and an estimated value of over 1.5 MILLION dollars in American Muscle.

That guy was a CELEBRITY - EVERYONE loved the GREEN car...  It became a running joke with my wife, 'cause everytime we'd hear someone in town or at the restaurant, I'd turn to her and in a high-pitch whiny voice go "the GREEN one, the GREEN one..."

Last year at the car show up in Albuquerque I saw an '08 Snakeskin Green Viper and it took my breath away. It is a very intense color. Pictures do not do it justice imo. I love the 96 GTS Blue also, it is a very intense color as well.

I'm still thinking my Viper is going to end up in GTS Blue.  Interestingly enough, they started doing cars in Blue with Black stripes a few years back - looks really nice.  I'm thinking that'd be a good way to show some "homage" to the car's original color.
